CENTRAL ONTARIO AREA (COA) – CAF ENGAGEMENT WITH THE CANADIAN SPACE AGENCY

This is a mandatory event and is open to all cadets, BUT, we are only allowed to bring 50% of our squadron which is a total of 87 cadets.  Therefore, sign-up is on a first come, first served basis.
This Area Directed Activity (ADA) activity is intended to engage all cadets from all levels and all elements. CAF Engagement is designed to familiarize cadets with various careers in the CAF, experience some of the day-to-day employment requirements through hands on activities, tours and guest speakers, and to recognize the benefits and advantages the Cadet Program can offer those who chose to continue a career in the CAF.
This year COA will partner with the Canadian Space Agency. Colonel Jeremy Hansen, CD will be the keynote speaker. Colonel Hansen (a former Air Cadet with 164 RCACS in London) is a Canadian astronaut, Royal Military College (RMC) graduate, fighter pilot, physicist and former aquanaut. Colonel Hansen was selected as a mission specialist on the Artemis 2 flight, which intends to circle the Moon in 2025. He will be the first non-American astronaut to fly to the Moon. Colonel Hansen will have an opportunity to speak to the cadets through a virtual presentation which will include a Q&A.  His presentation will demonstrate the benefits and advantages the cadet program can offer to those cadets who may be attracted towards a career in the CAF.
