The City of Vaughan is bringing back a beloved holiday tradition this year – the Santafest Parade!
This festive event will feature holiday-themed floats, marching bands, entertainers, and of course – a visit from Santa Claus himself!
283 Air Cadet Squadron will once again be participating in this exciting event. This activity falls under the Community Service portion of your training and is required to pass your level.
Date: Sunday, November 30
Times: Drop off: 12:00 pm at the Joint Operations Centre, 2800 Rutherford Rd, Vaughan. We will take a shuttle bus to Maple High School. This is the registration location and parade route line up. Washrooms and refreshments are available.
Pick up: Between 4:30 pm and 5:00 pm at the Joint Operations Centre, 2800 Rutherford Rd, Vaughan. A shuttle bus will take the cadets from Vaughan City Hall to the Joint Operations Centre.
Parade starts at 2:00 pm SHARP. It is imperative that cadets show up on time.
Dress: Blue uniform. No blues, FTU’s. Make sure to wear an undershirt and long underwear as well. Wool socks are mandatory if in uniform. Please wear your squadron parka, toque and gloves.
New recruits: Appropriate, comfortable and warm civilian clothing. Undershirt and long underwear to keep you warm. Wear a warm winter jacket, toque/hat, and gloves/mitts. If you have them, you may wear your snow pants as well
